Feature walls

Feature walls are a great way to set a focal point in a room. They enhance the surrounding area and add another layer of texture or colour to your room.

Things to consider:

• Not every wall is suitable to become a feature wall. If the wall has lots of windows, doors or bulkheads it simply will not achieve the purpose

• While I do encourage my clients to make bolt choices regarding their feature walls, sometimes less can be more. If you have a nice warm and cosy room, you could simply paint one wall in double strength colour or just a different tone in the same colour spectrum.

• The importance of introducing texture and layering in interior design cannot be overstated. So why not choose some special effect paints or plaster techniques to add some depth to your room?
